You’ve been experiencing some sleepless nights and desperately just want a night of uninterrupted sleep…
While some folks might try a warm bath, an open window, herbal tea or a turkey meal, others are giving Dream Water a try.
The company claims that Dream Water is “the first all-natural sleep enhancer with zero calories, no preservatives and natural active ingredients that helps you relax and fall asleep.”
What makes this water so unique? Dream Water is infused with three natural sleep ingredients:
- Melatonin – helps induce sleep
- Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid(GABA) – helps promote relaxation by blocking the transmission of an impulse from one cell to another in the central nervous system
- 5-HTP – helps improve the quality of sleep by stimulating the production of melatonin
Dream Water is receiving mixed reviews.
One reason being that the 5-HTP may cause serotonin syndrome which occurs when serotonin levels are too high. When this occurs, it can elevate blood pressure and heart rate. If a person is taking antidepressant drugs, the risk of serotonin syndrome may be increased.
Because the water has been enhanced, it appears to be more under the category of herbal supplement rather than water.
Dream Water contains zero calories and is available in three flavors–Lullaby Lemon (lemon and lime), Snoozeberry (blueberry and pomegranate) and Pineapple PM.
Dream Water can be purchased from its website or at stores such as Walgreens. You can purchase a 2.5 oz “sleep shot” or an 8 oz size. Both have the same concentration of ingredients. The average cost per serving is $3.50.
I recommend that if you choose to try Dream Water, that you use it short term due to the 5-HTP and potential side effects. I also recommend drinking it at least an hour before heading to bed. After all, it would be a bummer to fall asleep…only to suddenly wake up because you need the bathroom!

Dream water!!! Wow! What will they come up with next! I think just making sure you stop eating by 7 PM and no caffeine after lunch will help you sleep better. I just can’t imagine buying dream water.

Ummm, guess I’ll just stick with herbal tea at night.
